Warp Spider Squad

"Fully materialized and prepared for war."

Members of one of the rarest Aspect Warrior paths, Warp Spiders are elite amongst their own kind. While other Eldar would cringe at entering the Warp for any reason, the Warp Spiders do it regularly. Their monofilament weaponry is effective against almost all infantry.

They are inspired by the small, spider-like creatures which guard the Craftworlds, protecting the souls of dead Eldar against attack. Moving quickly through the wraithbone, they strike hard, fast, and without warning, just as their namesakes do.

Note: In Soulstorm, Warp Spider Squads require two slots in Falcons and Webway Gates.

Tactics

A major tactic for using Warp Spiders is to take advantage of their excellent mobility due to their teleportation. Slow moving close combat units will find it difficult to engage Warp Spiders, making them easy targets. Additionally, Haywire Bombs make them good to use as a defense against some vehicle assaults or as a compliment to a raid on enemy headquarters.

Warp Spiders do good damage against infantry of all types, and can be deployed from jumping Falcon Grav Tanks in order to take full advantages of their Warp backpacks.

One option for playing against the Warp Spiders is to tie them up in combat. However, this tactic requires the Eldar player to be unskilled enough not to use screening units, such as Howling Banshees and the Seer Council, and the Warp Spiders can just teleport away.
